Hi every-one,
help required, took the van out this week-end for the first time down to N Wales. Snow, freezing weather but what the heck. Problem, after getting everything set up just the water to plum in filled the barrel up,plugged the Whale pump in,opened the hot tap and switched the pump on. OK so far then the water stopped out of the tap pump still running. Went out to find water pouring out from under the van,on checking inside the van the out cold pipe on the back of the pump had blown off. Re-connected it and started again. Only lasted for a few seconds and then nothing. No water no pump.Van is an Abbey GTS Vouge 214 1995. Checked the Pump when I got home and that is OK .
Can any-one advise please

Unhappy Dennis

Could it be, in view of the outside temperature this weekend, that some water has frozen in the pipe causing a blockage which made the pipe blow off?

Hi Dennis do you have an on-board pump or one that goes into the barrel ?

>>Checked the Pump when I got home and that is OK

By that do you mean the pump is now running and pumping water .

The only thing i can think of for the pipe being blown off is pressure build-up due to restriction in your water system , or a loose pipe ( more likely ) .

Hi Dennis , first thing to check is the pump fuse on your fuse panel . Then check the water pump socket on the side of the caravan to see what voltage you are getting on the contacts , you should be getting 12volts when you have a tap switched on ( note to check this you don't need the pump connected ) . Let me know how you get on .
