HI, the chassis, Brakes,Bearings,Chassis to body Mountings, Tyres, hitch, couplings, steadies, jockey wheel, road lights, 12volt electrics, 230volt electrics, all the appliance's , fridge, fire, hob & oven, waterheater, water system, pump, pipework, couplings, gas soundness check, damp check, takes me between 3 1/2 -4 1/2 hours to check everything.
If you go to a good company they will supply you with a full list of things they have done a bit like a car servicing list including parts they have supplied. however you would also need to tell them what other items need checking and judging on the age of the van a gas and electric check would be adventageous. Also a full check and service on you gas fire and fridge. But am I thinking here that you want the schedule so you can do the jobs yourself.
Truth is we have a new car a lovely Automatic Jaguar, our last car was a 5 series BMW we had the towbar fitted, ATF changed, and thought we would be ok. But the car suffered and the gear box wasn't the same.
Before we have another towbar fitted and i risk my Jaguar's gear box. I wanted to know if anything on the caravan may have contributed to the cars suffering.
Having read your replies and discussed them,my petrol head husband is confident everything is working correctly and all will be ok,he reassures me that the brakes on the caravan work and they also release ok.
I have no problems paying for a service if they are really necessary, just wanted some feedback on what gets serviced.
