i got one the other day to check on the van you do need to pierce the wall board but not all the way in (just the very tips) yes i think they are accurate i try'd mine on a piece off wet wood in the garden then had ago with a friends £45 meter and both readings where with in 002% off each other.but you must do the calibration to 100 before useing.
