We have recently purchased our first caravan and we havent a clue what we need.  I know we need a battery but when we went to the camping shop were faced with different sizes and didn,t know which one will be the best.  We are hoping to go camping using EHU but somtimes we might not.  Which battery size do you reccommend?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I agree with Michael

I use an 85amp  leisure battery too and its coped quite well.

you may also find that not only are the 110 batteries heavy but the take up far too much room

If you have a dedicated battery locker and intend to do a fair bit of camping without EHU I would go for the 110 amp.

I've just bought a 120aH battery how long would I expect this to last without EHU. I have a fridge, carver water heater and usual lights?

Your fridge will not run off your battery, it runs off gas or mains. It would drian it to fast.

But your battery should last about 7 to 8 days if its used for lights and water pump and a small tv with a couple of hours viewing a night.

I have one and it lasts for about two weeks if we don't use the shower and just use the above.

Flack.

Your water heater also runs off gas (and possibly mains), but does need a certain minimum voltage in the battery to ignite the gas.
