The GP74 Electric PUmp in our caravan has started leaking.

The instructions state that "Little maintenance is normally required but after considerable use it may be necessary to fit a new 'U' packing (spindle seal)"

Having taken the pump apart, it makes sense that replacing this part would probably solve our leak, though Whale tell me that the GP series is over 10 yrs old and there are no parts available.

Any ideas where I can get hold of this small blak rubber seal?

Good news on this post!

I took the pump apart, moved the 'u' pcking back into position and rescrewed everything as tightly as I could.  At first it seemed to continue leaking - and so I left this post.

When we next went away, I cut a hole in the side of an ice cream box so that the pump and its pipe would sit in it.  I was expecting more water and this seemed the bext way of containing it.  I also placed a bag of silica gel in the cupboard to keep the atmosphere dry.

Guess what - no more leaks!

I'll leave the ice cream tub just in case though......!
