Does anyone know exactly what should be done when a caravan is serviced?
When I bought my caravan 2 years ago, the guy at the caravan place told me it had been serviced. As I was completely new to this lark, I didn't ask him what had been done. (But wouldn't have know what he was on about if I had asked!)
After caravaning for a couple of years now and learning bits on the way, I don't think it was done very thoroughly.
I now want to have it serviced before a trip down to Cornwall, but want to know it has been done properly.
We've just had one done and found out that the previous owners never bothered !! We've had it 2 years and thought it was OK. Service peeps checked brakes, wheel bearings, coupling, tyres & pressure, road lights, for damp, all things connected with gas (pressure regualtor, pressure test, gas joints, appliances and pipes), consumer trip, all 240 volt appliances, all 12v appliances, water tanks, heater, taps etc. Cost us a lot of money in the end thanks to previous owner !!
i am in north devon and need to hire a caravan for 2 people for a weekend at the end of july can anyone tell me where i can get one from or is there anyone locally that would hire me one
You can expect to pay around £150.00 for a full service which covers everything or about 2/3rds of this for just a chassis service which covers all the chassis, running gear and hitch. Any parts required will be charged extra.
It differs quite a lot up and down the country but these are not bad average figures for the South East.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
