It's years since I've been that way. Is there any services westbound suitable for car/caravan to pull into. I know of the one at Exeter but want to get further on than that.

It really depends on what you class as'Services'.

Down here, 'Services' really means a garage where you can get fuel, snacks and a toilet. There are no big, bu**er off Service Areas like on the Motorway network.

For what its worth here are a few that are classified as Services;

There is a garage south of the A30 on the A382 at Whiddon Down(where they removing the roundabout and installing a flyover.

There is a BP 'Service area' just to the east of Oakhampton where the B3260 meets the A30.

There is a Shell 'Service Area' on the North side of the A30 at its junction with the A386  signposted Tavistock. Go down the westbound off ramp and turn right under the A30.

There is a garage with facilities at the junction of the A30 with the B3257 approx 7mls west of Launceston.

Thats the end of my local knowledge. I hope it is of some use to you.

DO NOT STOP at whiddon down/Merrymeet services on the A30, they are currently doing roundabout roadworks there.  We stopped there 2 weeks ago to pop in a buy a paper on a saturday and it was absolute bedlam!.....queues out to road, beeping horns....caravans....boats...queues for the loo's.....angry drivers....cars parked on the grass....

bit further down there is small services at Okehampton/Belstone turn off - had a little chef and garage and looked a lot quieter!
