Hello all,
I have two taps in my caravan, one in the toilet, one in the kitchen. The one in the toilet receives the water first. (It is a whale electric pump - no "footpump" to prime water)
The toilet tap works fine, but the kitchen is giving me a wee bit trouble. It only works some of the time on it's own; it works all of the time when I have the bathroom tap on.
I tried sucking the kitchen tap while pump was on (toilet tap off) and it worked until i turned the tap off and tried switching on again. Didn't work the next time I tried it.
I'm wondering if you think this is a microswitch problem? If so, how do I get to it? ( I have a 1988 swift Rapide 12/2) Couldn't link to a previous post suggesting www.caravanfaultfinder.co.uk
If not, could it be a leak in the pipe causing air to get in and thus causing the pressure to drop? There's no obvious evidence of this.
I have "the caravan manual" arriving tomorrow (from www.bookdepository.co.uk - very cheap, no delivery charge), so hopefully less newbi questions from me!
Thanks in advance for your wise and sagely advice.

I would try the micro switch first, a dodgy connection in the switch may let some power through but not enough to fully power the pump,
If that doesnt work check the non return valve is working properly, the watrer may be falling to a point that the pump struggles to re-prime, but the bathroom may be fine,
I cant help on how to get to it, but someone has had a similar probel, and there was a diagram on there if you have a quick look

Hi Folks
Thanks for advice & diagram.
Does the top of the tap just pull off? I don't want to yank it & break it.
Where would the non-return valve be?
Thanks again,

in the diagram no.6 is the screwhole x 4.there is 4 small caps one at each corner, lift out with a sharp point, under that is 4 screws(when refitting do not over tighten these).the tap will lift with care as well as the pipes.hold all the lot with a piece of string tied to something while you change the micro switch, otherwise it will keep falling back .plastic sleave 10 will pull off then change the switch and replace in reverse of removal.
Where would the non-return valve be.this is in the water heater and should be ok

the non return valve should be somwhere in the pipe between the water inlet and the junction for your first tap (in your case the bathroom).
i dont know if the tap top pulls or is fastened though

Hang on...
Is that for a water pump? Looks (to my untrained eye) like something to do with a heater.
Getting sleepy...5am start tomorrow
