I'm after some advice please. We've previously had a Khyam Ontario 8 and a Kampa Watergate 8, both with porch extensions. We like the Vis-a-vis style with a large sleeping pod at one end and two separate pods at the other (or at least another large pod that can be separated with a zip divider, not toggle) for our two kids.
The Kampa has done it's job but is now wearing thin, I'm looking at the Olpro Wichenford 8.0 with porch. But... we don't have a large tent shop nearby and looking at the pictures online it looks like the sleeping pods are almost transparent, you can literally see the airbed in a pod through the closed fabric.
Does anybody have one of these tents? and can confirm if the sleeping pods are actually a bit thicker and these pictures are a trick of the light?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave - I've not had hands on a Wichenford myself, so I can't confirm that exact bedroom fabric, but what you're seeing is almost certainly normal rather than a sign it's flimsy. Most family-tent bedrooms are a plain, uncoated polyester, and that fabric is naturally translucent - in bright light you'll see the airbed's shape straight through it. It's a light thing, not a thickness or durability one: the flysheet is the waterproof layer, and the inner only needs to be breathable, so a see-through pod still keeps you perfectly dry. Product photos usually have a lamp popped inside the bedroom too, which exaggerates it - so a trick of the light is very plausible.
The spec that actually matters for you is whether the bedroom is described as 'blackout' or darkened - that's what stops the kids waking at first light in summer - and, given your zip-not-toggle point, whether that big pod splits with a proper zipped divider rather than a curtain. Both are worth a quick email to Olpro before you commit, as neither is obvious from photos. Happy to help you read a spec sheet against your Watergate if that's useful.
