We're off for a few days at Breydon Water Norfolk.(Parkdean special offer £15 per night inc ehu))
My efforts to obtain a tow bar for my current vehicle , a 1.4 Nissan Cube, was not successful, so no trailer this time.
Into the Cube goes a 4m Bell Tent, awning, flysheet, coir mats, two camp beds, sleeping bags, table, EHU lead, heater and Kettle, leaving plenty of space for personal effects, dog basket and two small dogs, the cool box with provisions will go in last. All this and the rear window remains completely unobstructed.
Using an inflatable roof rack, I have the two deck chairs and a large 9 pole windbreak with gate wrapped inside the tent's waterproof footprint.
All we need is nice weather, a tail wind and better luck than last time when the previous car died.

Where there's a will, there's a way! Have a good trip.
You're efforts actually made me chuckle out loud at memories of my own 'Tardis'! We (I and partner at the time) used to go to quite a lot of group gatherings, not camping but bunk barns for walking w/e's, Centre Parks for party w/e's etc., several times a year, all organised by a 'elite VERY bright people's club' (some of you will know who that is).
Now it became known amongst the regular crowd than my other half did not travel light, and on our arrival the car would be encircled by those in the know to observe (and cheer!) just how much I'd crammed into the car this time! It was a fairly capacious Citroen C5 Hatchback, but the crowd never ceased to be amazed at it's ability to 'serve' my other half's excesses. She had individual holdalls for 'Outdoor/walking' clothes, Indoor 'ordinary' clothes, reference books (she was an avid birder), music CD's, one for maps and walking guides, one for an assortment of footwear, a bag of 'essential' makup and girly potions, then of course there was the tote boxes of food (we were self catering), and another for booze (we were partying!), mustn't forget the essential 'HUGE' handbag, and of course the rucksack (which miraculously was also stuffed!). Somewhere in the tiny remaining vacant spaces in the car, I also managed to squeeze in my minuscule baggage 'allowance'!
All I can think of is thank God we never went camping together, even trailers and roof racks would have struggle to expand the car's capacity sufficiently to cope with her additional needs for roughing it under canvas and the camping gear! Don't start me on airline travel and excess baggage ......!!!!!
After we went our separate ways, the car proved perfectly adequate for camping and coped with me and the dog (Border Collie, so a full seat occupant!), a large 5 berth tunnel tent, and all the trimmings of glamping, Porta-Potti, 3-way camp fridge, 2 hob stove and gas cylinder, table and chairs, mains EHU cable and lights and heater, even a 21" TV, and of course doggy baggage of crate, bed, food, bowls etc.
If there's a moral to that tale, it's 'ditch the Mrs' up the camping to glamping, oh yes, and take the dog along this time, far less self indulgent!
Reading this has given me fond memories of packing my Rover 100 (a metro - they've rebadged it you fool) to leave after visiting my mum for Christmas. How the thing wasn't doing a wheely back home I don't know but the back seats folded brilliantly and we would always manage to get everything in, no matter how absurd the task seemed. Truly a thing of wonder.
Wishing you sunshine, fair winds and clear roads.
