Just finished pitching my new abandoned baby - the one I found on my doorstep last week
I think she is beautiful - what do you guys think?
Anyone got any idea of how old she might be? She is in superb condition apart from all the pegging rubbers have perished so I've replaced them with a hotch potch of spares I had to hand! Inner tent is huge! There is the tiniest hole in the canvas that needs repairing near to the bottom of a seam but that's no problem.
She went up like a dream even though I had no instructions and hadn't a clue about what I was doing! Here are the pics.
Pitching the inner tent first -
Front end -
Back end -
With side opened out -
Inside -
Inner tent -
Both sides open up the same. The front is zipped on - the whole flysheet is in 3 parts so you can zip the front bit onto the back bit leaving out the middle if you follow that - then you'd just have a small porch + inner tent.
I'm leaving her pitched while I'm away for the next few days and I want to see if she's still waterproof. Don't want any rain though while we're away!!

Another beauty to add to your ever increasing collection, congratulations. No idea what shes called but will keep eyes open!

Very nice...it IS that model many of us commented on last year, when Forest Camping were selling off old stock.
Is that a mesh panel, on the inner tent doorway?
How tall is the tent, Fostermum?
Thanks for the pics, by the way...very interesting.
Thanks - yes it is a mesh panel on the inner tent doorway - I was quite impressed by that!
The height throughout is 180cms so just short of 6' - fine for me as I'm a short ar$ed 5'2". Bedroom pod measures approx. 220cm x 260cm so a good size. It's really claustrphobic though having no windows in the living area but very cosy!
As I was pitching it I was thinking about your other post about FC selling off old stock as it seemed to fit your description perfectly - I don't suppose you can find those old posts just out of interest? I've searched but with no success.

What a lovely tent! Yes, I 'm sure that was one of the 'interesting' tents Forest Camping had up on their bargain page not so long ago. Looks in excellent condition too.
Talk about cash in the attic, you must have squids and squids in the tent shed!

Aw she is a cutie :)
To find out the age, email Cabanon
We were curious about one last week so we sent them a picture and they replied this morning with the name :)
Angie
I emailed them last week but haven't heard back yet
Out of interest, what was the name of the one you posted about on here?
Esther or Emma
Only difference is how many bedrooms and I have no idea how many it had.
Cabanon sent us several pages of set up instructions etc and it said a new (smaller model) was introduced in 1984 so I guess whatever her name is, she is pretty old
Thanks Angie - that's really interesting - I love hearing about vintage tents .
Now I'd LOVE a tent called Edith
They are really helpful - I asked them about the Scenario, Montpellier and Calais and got loads of pages showing set up etc so an hopeful that I will hear something about the Isabelle. But maybe they are fed up sending me instructions for their older tents - doesn't do their sales much good!
