Do you think a cat could do this damage with claws? Or was it malicious with knife or scissors? Thanks

Are you camping in North Wales??
https://pumawatch.co.uk/

I've been owned by a few cats and have never seen one do damage like that.

My money would be on the rabbit, I recognize him, and they get up to all sorts. https://twitter.com/forest_fr1ends

Never argue with fools........They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

that damage has been done by a stanley knife, no way a cat could do that so big and so neatly

That’s horrible!

Not a cat.

I have seen tents ripped like that when teens or adults have thrown themselves or tripped into tents. If the tent is older and the fabric weak?

Otherwise deliberate.

Was anything stolen? Was the zip locked?

At the little hole you can see the start from the damage. Think from a person fall on the tent.

I think that is likely, because of the vertical rip, not just the horizontal rips, which you might expect if it had been slashed .

Were you on a busy site? I witnessed plenty of people this week that had not absorbed the common consideration that if you are tripping over someone’s guys you are too close to their pitch / tent
