Please can anyone suggest a small tent that I can stand up in and has 2 rooms or 1 one room and a porch please. It’s just for me and my dog but can’t crawl into a tent anymore. I’m only 5ft 3” but want to walk straight in without any crawling. Have an Outwell Nevada M 5 man but it’s too big now and not easy to put up on my own. 😂

I am only 5'2" and had a Khyam 3-berth Freelander for just me and the dog.

Have a look at their Biker which is similar in size.

Khyam were indeed great for this design (we had a Khyam for almost 30 years), unfortunately the company has folded so finding their products will become harder.

If you are happy crouching to enter the Eurohike Avon 3 may fit the bill.

What is the budget by the way?

Personally, I would spend more and get a decent cotton canvas pyramid tent, and the one I would get is the ESVO 300 as it has an inner tent which makes it cosier in the colder months.

Smaller ones like the 240 or 280 will also suit if an inner tent is not required.

The 300 was not available back in 2015/6, hence I bought the 340 instead which was 4-berth just for me and the dog, and I loved that tent which was my last one before I switched unit to a van.

Camping Travel Store is ESVO official stockists in UK, and I would strongly advise for the OP to visit their tent display to see if the ESVO or other brands they stock would suit.

Dutch cotton pyramids are great, easy to pitch and weather resistant, and cosy too IMHO.

It's a couple of years since I looked at tents, but from what I recall 'small' and 'standing room' didn't go together!

OK, I'm 6ft so my definition of standing room is different to yours, but it seemed mostly 4 berth or larger if you wanted the height. ... and with berths, came cost, footprint size and weight!

I had specific needs for a tent, not too large footprint as pitch size very limited and enforced on the site we would be using, separate bedrooms for two adults, 'living' space for two to sit/eat in bad weather, and very moderate cost, and of course standing room. Me and a mate were looking for a tent to share at motor racing events.

Chose the Eurohike Rydal 500 in the end, it's not been used in anger yet as mate went down with Cancer and we couldn't attend the races whilst he was still ill.
I've done a trial erect in the garden on my own, and it was OK, seemed to fulfil our needs. It's an adequate tent IMHO, but not the very best (but can't be too critical at the price!) and fulfilled our specific needs for one, maybe two week's use a year. The '5 berth' bedroom has a toggle fitted removeable divider in 2/3 berth ratio, as any experienced camper will tell you, that's really a 3-4 berth bedroom divisible into 1/2 berths for reasonable space and comfort.

If you want cheap and cheerful (but also good reputation) Millets currently have their Sandero for £104 .

Did you get one in the end, as we are looking for a tent with a taller doorway but just big enough for 2 adults to sleep in, no porch or anything

Just wondering if a 2000hh would be ok in the uk? I’ve only ever had a 3500hh on my old tent.

No I still haven’t got one! I have got my eye on a few secondhand Outwell 3 man tents which are about 200cm high. I do have a a Eurohike Serando in my shopping basket which is tall but what is putting me off is the 2000hh whereas my old faithful Outwell was 3500hh so I’m being a bit cautious. I’ll have to decide soon!

It's mainly the door height for us, makes it difficult to clamber in and out, don't need living space or a porch as will have a caravan and awning for that

The Sunncamp Silhouette 200 or the very similar Outwell Sky 2 would seem to meet your requirements.

We’ve bought a Berghaus Air 400 Nightfall. What an amazing tent! My husband is 6’ 2” so needs a bit of head height, we also have a big Golden Retriever who steals space so it works for us. It’s on offer at Go Outdoors at present - £399 if you’re a member. We pushed the boat out and bought the fitted carpet for the living room and the tent footprint (which protects the ground sheet) it came as a an add-on bundle so about £450 in total. I did a LOT of research including the Which? Best Buys and this topped the tree. Obviously, tents are ultimately personal preference and so you need to go and visit somewhere like Go Outdoors, Tiso or similar and see them set up and have a wander about.

N.B. There are loads of tents second-hand on eBay, you’ll need to do a bit of research on things to spot buying a used tent, but well worth a look.
