Spent all nght dreaming about tents lol and then this morning thought carpe diem - sod it, let's go for it! so we did, thanks Brainhertz for you PJ tip off, we've ordered one from them.
spideygirl - your photos are great, that is exactly what we'll be doing with our side canopy! Why did you have to send your first Norfolk Lake back?
oh I'm all giddy now, I do feel a little treacherous to our beloved Outwell Colorado 8 though, she's done us proud and she was so looking forward to going down to Cornwall in 2 weeks time........ but hey ho

oops sorry that was rickit that gave us the heads up on that one.
Does anyone have the SV8 carpet to go in their Norfolk Lake? We were going to order one but a lovely lady at PJ's explained that although they say that they are the same on the box the bedroom areas are different so they don't line up.

No, I can't credit for the PJ tip (lol) but I can tell you that the SV8 carpet doesn't fit the Norfolk Lake as the hole for the third bedroom is in the wrong place - actually it isn't a hole, more like 2 slices joined together.
Get the carpet for the SV6 - it's the same overall size, hasn't been hacked about with a pair of garden sheers and it is £10 cheaper!!
If you need the hole for the third bedroom then you can do it yourself by unpicking some of the stitching down the centre seam.

I think we may just live without the carpet this year and get one for early season camping next year! anyway the weather is going to be sooo hot in Cornwall for the first 3 weeks of August that we won't actually need it lol
Now.....just need to find someone with a big enough garden to have a go at pitching before we go away - or do you think it's straightforward enough to chance it, seeing as we have Colorado already?
It's not that difficult to pitch, although your first time is always a bit unsure, but you have to check that the tent is OK. You don't want to get to Cornwall and find out there's a pole missing or all the doors have been sewn up, do you?

lololol let's hope not - now that really would be bug free if all the doors were sewn up!
we might go across onto the field across the road, or weigh up the neighbours gardens to see if any are big enough!
We can just about fit our Colorado in our garden without guys so the Norfolk will be too big - but we will try it first, if only to get the inital first pitch swearing done in private! lol
Don't make the school boy mistakes we did when we first put our bear lake up in the garden.
1) if you have a dog keep it inside so it can't run over the nice new canvas when its laid out on the garden flat - I'd just mown the lawn so it was nicely grassy after this little episode
2) don't stand or neel on the canvas yourself either - I did and left a nice muddy knee mark inside of the canvas.
DOH.
and
3) Guy it if you're going to leave it any length of time, - not just with the silly pegs you get with it either, get some hefty ones.
Lucycat - we sent our first two NL's back because there were big runs in the canvas and clips were missing for the bathtub ground sheet.
I am thinking of buying a footprint groundsheet for the Nl, the SV8 will fit. We found if the ground is a bit damp them the canvas can get dirty inside. Also means it will easier to clean than the ZIG.
Hi, Clips for bathtub groundsheet ?? now you'v got me wondering, just bought a bear lake and put it up in the garden, didn't have any pegs at all, now confused about clips for groundsheet , where would they go and should they be in the bag ??
Thanks AT

By clips you mean toggles on the porch ground sheet which fit through rings along the bottom of the porch canvas - much like clipping the bed pods to the tent. This keeps the sides of the 'bath tub' vertical.
If you look carefully, there are also pegging points on the ground sheet to stop the toggles lifting it up completely and to keep it on the ground
As for no pegs - there should be a big bag of wire ones in with the canvas - nobody sells a tent without any pegs.
