just thinking of buying an Outwell Georgia XL over a Khyam classic ultimate due to the better layout for us (2 small kids - like the idea of the bedrooms and the light airy feel) although, as a novice camper, I like the idea of the Khyam rapid erection (so to speak Mrs.)
How long do you guys think it would take a novice with an even more novice wife, 2 young kids and a dog to pitch the Outwell ?
We now live in Spain so will be using it a lot in a warmer climate - any problems with the heat ?
Also like the idea of putting it up in our garden for visitors to stay in, especially the mother in law, would it suffer from being left up long term - in the sun ?
Is the Khyam a better quality product ?
thanks in advance
Russell
We have the Georgia XL and love it and it takes us about 40mins to pitch at present, but we have only pitched it a few times. The layout is fab and IMO an all around good egg!! We too have 2 small children 2 n' 4 and they have their own 'pod'
I have also had a Khyam QE Classic XL and that too was a good tent.
I wouldn't say one brand is better than the other as they both have many positives.
We were away last week in Cornwall - and our hartford XL cracking despite bad weather, no leaks, no damage, all perfect!!
Well done Outwell - I am a fan and cant imagine buying any other brand of tent!!
Note to Johilder70 : As a Southampton fan, and loosing to you on penalities in play off semis I find it hard to stomach your signature during this thread!!! But, like the Murphy's, i'm not bitter (much) - good luck to you this season and here's hoping you stay up and we join you next season!!
------------- August - Week in Cornwall
September - Still need to book somewhere, looking now!!!

LOL
Gulp..... still makes my stomach jump!!! Wembley was just as bad on the nerves !!
Hold on to Burley (we couldn't) and you will get there. Good football side, even without Bale.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Both the Georgia range and hartford range are current this year. The hartford range, starting off with the L when it was called the Plus about 4/5 years ago shows no signs of stopping production. however, the Hartford S & m have been discontinued.
The Georgia range might even expand next year to an M?
Those clever people at Outwell you just never know. They do read what we put on here!!
Hi, have been reading all your thoughts with interest-can anyone give me a bit of advice! We are looking to buy our first tent but cant decide out of the outwell hartford xl (with canopy £249) or Georgia xl (with carpet £379) both from world of camping.Does anyone know if they are within normal pitch sizes and are they easy to put up?Am a bit tempted by the vango diablo 600 as only £197,cheapest 900 version £299 but seems a big jump for extra pod.Def like the idea of SIG and double skin.

The Georgia XL/ Harford XL do have big footprints, due to their shape. In my experience, thus far with the Georgia XL, you may struggle on C&CC sites at peak time amd may have to pay double pitch. However, there are many sites that do not have an issue with larger tents.
I really rate the Georgia XL and it takes about 40 mins to pitch. It is inner first, but the material is similar to the flysheet, so dries rapidly should you pitch in the rain!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
