Thanks for all your comments. The issue has now been resolved. I basically bought the Outwell Nebraska XXL from World of Camping last week for £339 including delivery as they had price matched it to CE Sports price of £349.99 so they knocked a tenner off for me which was great so I ordered it there and then. Then after looking a few days later for the carpet and groundsheet I discovered Yeomans Outdoors are selling the 2007 Outwell Nebraska XXL + FREE Outwell Carpet + FREE Outwell Footprint Groundsheet + FREE delivery and for only £329.99 including delivery.
I was looking to buy the carpet and the groundsheet anyway but this way has saved me a good £75-£80. I basically went onto the World of Camping website this morning and went into the chat pod and talked to Joe (Customer Services). I mentioned that I had seen a much better deal where I would get the extra carpet and groundsheet and the tent for a tenner cheaper. Solution = "Do you want me to send you out the carpet and groundsheet" - "Yes Please". All I had to pay was the £4.95 postage. RESULT!
I have to take my hat off to World of Camping as that is a very generous thing to do and I will be recommending them to everyone.
I recently bought a tent from Yeomans but they are out of stock of the carpet. A much bigger carpet for another tent is cheaper than the carpet for my tent but may be too big.
I emailed to ask them first of all why the carpet for my tent is more expensive than the same type of carpet for a bigger tent. I also asked if they will be having my tent carpet back in stock and if so would they sell it at the cheaper price.
They have not replied - lol.
On a different level I recently bought a cooker from Currys then afterwards discovered that had I put a code word into the order form I could have got it £12 cheaper. I phoned them up and asked if I could add the code word now and they agreed and reimbursed me £12.
So some companies will oblige with offers and reductions, after all it's no skin off the salesman's nose, and some will fail to help or respond. Fair enough...use a different company next time.

I find it astounding that after buying something and being happy paying that price or they wouldnt have brought it that they then go back and ask for more off.
Can i ask do you do this at petrol stations, fastfood chains, supermarkets, houses etc ?
With this type of behaviour becoming more and more common ultimately it will mean less choice of where to shop as the smaller retailers close.Once most are shut down then the big boys can and will push up prices.Tescos do it already.
I mean how many who do this type of thing get to the checkout in tescos and mention that the local fruit and veg guy is cheaper so can they have the money off ? But i bet those same people would haggle in a smaller shop but not in one that can afford to take money off.
Tescos can afford it after all.
If you were prepared to pay a price then surely that is it ?
Using the dsr regs to take advantage isnt what the regs were put in place for.Ive had an online shop but shut it down because of the never ending problems with returns for reasons like this, it just wasnt worth the hassle trying to sell on opened unpacked goods put back in and claimed to be unopened.
I really believe in supporting local small business because if we dont there will only be the same large retailers in every town leaving you ultimately limited choice.

Can i ask you where you do your shopping if you don't use supermarkets?

We use our local butchers and greengrocers and do use supermarkets too.Our butchers is better value than the supermarkets and the meat is ten times better. The grocers is a lot cheaper than a supermarket.
We also grow stuff. At present we have grapes (white and pinot noir),apples (bramleys and braeburn) runner beans, figs and cherries and just had the last of the tomatoes.
The point is if you dont use them then they will go and when the supermarkets all put up their prices because there is no where else to go then what ? Its too late complaining once its gone.

Thing is their are loads of supermarkets now and yes they have put an end to little retailers but when the small guys have all gone what will happen then?.....they will fight among themselves and the biggest bully of them all will win,the way it these days.
My wife worked in 3 well known butchers in the town and all have closed reason is they could'nt compete even though the meat was by far superior to supermarkets the prices killed it.
Same thing is gonna happen in the camping world.......GO at the moment rule cause they are the supermarket of camping unless someone else comes along they will get bigger and bigger and no more mr little guy, even if the likes of Yeomans follow suit what will Go do,more than likely buy them out.
When i was a kid Millets was thee camping place, how many people use them these days...not many.
So at the end of the day imho if you can wheel and deal to save a few quid.....GO FOR IT the little boys were'nt offering great deals when they had the market.
