'catastrophic failure' during a week of 85mph winds and torrential rain......clearly the tent's fault

i don't know where andyn999 got his 85mph winds from as i was camping next to jonbeckett73 at the time and for the two days it was pitched there was so little wind you couldn't even fly a kite.And although it did rain quite heavy i have seen £15 dome tents deal with miles worse conditions and not one other tent on the campsite suffered any damage.I have been camping for 30+ years and have never seen a tent damaged by so little wind and rain.

It must have been a faulty one then, I really can't imagine mine doing that, and we have used it in windy conditions.

I can't see how how it could have managed to collect rain on top, ours has a tight, slightly domed roof...

Well after everyones really useful replies and the tent being out of stock when we did decide to purchase one, we have had a big re-think and today have bought a montana 6 with all the extras and I'm really made up with it. We've had it up the garden this afternoon and feel its well worth the extra money, thanks again for everyones helpful advice
