I followed your link, Former Scout, and must say I love the Minny 4 for the two of us but wouldn't like to have a "small family" in it, as they suggest in the blurb.
We got the extension last year and although we managed only one outing before packing up for the winter, it was worth every penny. It made such a difference to have all cooking gear out there and have the "sitting room" to lounge around in.

I've slept 3 and 4 in the Minny. Certainly with four you have to disciplined (bags in the living area at night and back in the pods during the day) but it's not too claustrophobic. Perhaps it is easier for us as we have a large kitchen tent so all that is inside the Minny is personal items, clothing, etc.

I'm sad our little ninja gang didn't get off the ground though, I'll have to recruit more members and then we'll come and nick yours!

well i don't know where they got mine from i rang up and asked to be put on a list for when they came in-expecting february-then a couple of days later they're sending me one!
you could always put you're tent at the end of my extension-and we could use the side doors to get in and out? waddya think?
