Hi Former Scout - I would love to hear how you get on after your few days away.  Mine's only been up in the garden so far.

Thewper - My poles also got clogged with mud as the instructions say to stand the poles up and put the rings through - I found that difficult - I think the trick is to keep them flat before putting the ring things through the end - as Fostermum says and what I did in the end!

Then peg out the back - this helps keep it in place while you pull foward.  Otherwise I found the whole thing just kept moving with me.  I still found it hard work to pull the tent up - I'm only 5ft 2inch and petite (not sure how I'll do it on a windy day!).  I pulled the tent forward from the front, not sure if that is correct though.  I found the tent stood up on its own then (again no wind though!), then pegged the back pole, pulled forward again the two front poles and pegged those.

I see the guy from Yeomans on Youtube pegged the front guy line to keep it up and I might try this next time as it would stop it from flopping back down.  Carry the pegs and mallets around with you also.

I'd follow Fostermums advice, seems good to me.

Trust me, if I can do it, so can you.  Take it to your in laws and have a few goes and you'll soon get the knack.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!
