Hey Peckedhen1 - I was in the market for a Monty 4 last year and I found that Millets actually still stocked them despite it being discontinued. Odd but they even had it in their 2009 catalogue when nobody else was selling them... maybe they had a deal to take all the end-of-line stock?
It might be worth ringing the individual stores to check the stock.

I have rung Millets in Halifax and a wonderful guy there is going to check the system to see if there is one at any of their stores. Watch this space.
How friendly and helpful everyone on this forum is, I do appreciate all your help, thank you.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Excellent. I rang a handful of Millets stores last year and tracked one down quite easily - even though they didn't show on their computer system.
I even managed to haggle the price down to £250, but in the end I decided I didn't want it. In hindsight I wish I'd bought it because I could have sold it for a good profit at that price!
Ah no worries, thanks for coming back. I hope you find a tent. The minnesota is a great tent. I have brought the nevada m as one of the bedrooms is slightly bigger. It holds up well in the wind but does bend a bit. I think the minnesota is better but not quite big enough for us.
Whoo hoo!! I am a happy bunny. I bought a Minnesota 4 - 2009, and used just one week, for £150. It is immaculate. It took OH and I about 25 minutes to get it up following the printed instructions on the bag.....it was hard getting the tent lifted and the pin thingies in. We'll have to practice now so we don't end up in the divorce court!
Reading the reviews there is a problem with the side porch cover...well, to my untrained eye, it looks OKish - yes the end of the cover pokes into the fly sheet and the zip is tight. OH is reluctant to saw a bit of the pole (says once its off he can't put it one again and it might spoil the tent!
Do you think an extension is a good idea? It is almost as much as the tent and, as he has been made redundant, we have to watch the pennies.

Glad you got what you were after - and at a good price too!
Re. the porch pole, if you can (sorry don't know the actual tent) use a hand to just push the porch pole slightly towards the zip when you zip past the stressed point to release some of the pressure and you'll not have a problem with the zip. Its best if you don't have to force it.
An alternative to a canopy if money is a little tight - take a look at the Vango Adventure Tarp £20 - we use it on all our tents including Vango's equivalent of the Monty 6. There is an elasticated side that sits behind the front hoop of the tent, held tight by guyropes and the tarp then extends out 2m with a central pole and guys at each end. The elasticated side is 296cm so should extend some way down the sides of the tent and the outward end is even longer. You can use the porch poles of the tent in addition to the one it comes with (and longer guys) to hold the front up in different arrangements. It will provide you with affordable, lightweight shelter, especially if combined with a windbreak. Waterproof and flame retardant.

Well done Peckedhen.
Glad you're sorted.
Did you get a front porch?
Sure I saw some on ebay the other day; hold on a sec......
