I cook in the Icarus porch, just move the stove and the table away from the side. The porch doesn't have a groundsheet and if the door is open ventilation and steam isn't a problem.

I totally agree with DK168. Most frame tents have a designated kitchen area with thick pvc panel and ventilated window with roll-up outside flap. That's the only tent I'd consider cooking in.
