Didn't realise it was a ZIG, but I suppose that makes sense if the weight of my Filey (The 6 berth version) is anything to go by.
I also notice your front wall curtains (on the main tent, not the separate vestibule) are zipped. Mine was only small velcro tabs, and was one of the minor disappointments. (the rest of the windows were zipped though).
I didn't have the front vestibule, but I seem to remember a few others bemoaning it was " a bit of a swine" to put up, and that was on the slightly narrower 6 berth Filey. I take it you found it ok, as not only does it look well pitched, the zip also sounded nice and snug when you opened it up!
I noted your front-to-back roof pole (as per my Filey), but did it come with the separate roof liner too? I rather liked ours, as it offered a nice finish (grey polycotton, same as the bedrooms) (hid the pole) and added to the insulation of course. (I wasn't bothered that it made it slightly darker inside, as it covered the main almost white roof).
Just one more thing... those "small canopies" over the windows... "Eye Brows", I believe they call them!

Good vid that. Well done!

Happy new tent!
Enjoy.
Thanks, Mucker!
I have no idea what a "ZIG" is but yes, the front wall curtains are zipped, which I do like. The big curtain on the vestibule is velcro tabbed, which isn't brilliant but I'm not complaining. The vestibule took us two goes to get it right...I also had to stand on a step-ladder to do it. The first time, I just hooked the elastic over the frame but we later spotted some flourescent webbing, which looked purposeful, hanging down inside, doing nothing. So, we pulled the vestibule down and re-did it but this time, looping the tape over the frame and then attaching the hooked ends of it under the frame ends - we could then tension it by pulling the webbing through one of those non-return buckles. The elastic turns out not to be structural...hehe!
There doesn't appear to be a roof liner for the front-to-back roof pole and it didn't enter my head that I might be missing out, until you mentioned it :). To be honest though, I'm very happy with the setup and I like the amount of light that comes in. When I'm exiting the tent, I tend to do a double-take because it's so bright, I feel like I've left a light on.
I like "eyebrows" and may adopt it...unless a more entertaining suggestion pops up.
Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure anybody would be interested because of the age of the tent (continued, it appears, as the Studland 8 Classic - a more attractive name, methinks!) and the fact that it's not got inflatable poles, hehe.
When we test it in earnest, I'll take some pics and do a report.

Very nice indeed, looks like you got yourself a great deal!
I hope so, Foggers. Last year, I bought an Outwell Montana 6 (Polyester) off Ebay for £100 and we took it to the Isle of Wight, where it leaked like a wicker chair, so I had resolved to buy new, this year...but then I discovered (probably on this site) polycotton...and that got me intrigued. Then, my Mrs. put a £250 limit on a tent and Go Outdoors are doing a "reduced to £250" Vango Anteus 600, for £250 (actually, I've just looked and it's now £319!), so it looked like we were aiming in that rough direction. Then I saw the attractively named (??!!) Polzeath on Ebay and decided to take a risk.
Time will tell...
Cheers,
Paul.

ZIG = Zipped in Groundsheet, as opposed to my SIG = Sewn in Groundsheet.
The main thing with the vestibule is that you got there, and ended up doing a good job on what appears to be a decent optional component. I got the impression that one or two others lost patience with theirs!
If you have a load of small rings attached to the seams above the living area, (can't quite tell from the video) then you've missed out on the roof liner. The rings should be identical in size to those that you attach the bed pod toggles to, but may be colour coded to match the toggles on the roof liner. I guess no rings mean there wasn't a roof liner.
I can't take credit for the term "Eyebrows"! I read it on here more than once. No idea if it's actually the official technical term!
First set up/Practice pitch of our Filey 6 Classic...
Roof liner runs from the main front wall to the front of th bedrooms, and the full width, give or take an inch or two...
I noticed on one of the latest "Classic" models (Croyde I think, from memory?) the curtains (and bedrooms?) were now polyester. Not sure I'd like that!
I looked at the Filey and the Croyde - they both look like great options - but this came up, so (after a couple of beers...) I went for it.
I looked but haven't spotted any roof-liner loops but thanks for the info about it.
The one thing that I would change and this is totally down to personal preference, is the bedrooms. I'd have a 3+3 configuration, with a removable divider, do that we can have a sleepover with our boys 😊👍 I wonder if the Filey or Croyde is the same width and with similar bedroom fixings. Could be potential for a swap...!
Cheers,
Paul.

Your tent is 4.45 wide, with the rear bedrooms at 2.9 (can be divided in half) + a separate 1.4 = 4.3
The Filey is 4.0 wide, with a full width bedroom at 3.8 (divides to 2 x 1.9).
Totally different, so certainly not straightforward and would possibly need a wizard with a sewing machine!
