Yes, we do go out, but it's breakfast time and evenings that the floor space is most welcome in the wet. Particularly with little ones who don't necessarily appreciate sitting still and playing cards! We take a small low folding table which can be used for the kids to kneel at for breakfast, we play games on the floor (eg matching pairs etc), they can do colouring, play with cars/figures etc. The kids would much rather have space to sit/play on the floor, which probably doesn't apply when they get older. The space helps us be better organised too so we aren't falling over each other constantly.it doesn't need to be huge but some 6-man tents (particularly with sloping fronts) have very little usable floor space once you add in a few bags/boxes etc.
