You can also get an idea of dates with the colours of the groundsheets.
The doors had extensions on the bottoms that tuck under the groundsheets or can be pegged out as extended door /windbreaks.
There was once listed a model above the Major....the Super.

These tents were not as standardised as modern tents are, and versions had slightly varying dimensions and differently cut flysheets, especially in the extended form.

Wow, never seen a 'super' must be rare, or indeed on older model. Not in my blacks 1972 Catalogue.
Am I right in saying Groundsheet colours go...

Green- Early
Blue- Mid
Grey- Late ?

Green to about 1969, Blue to about 74 ish then Grey?......

A damaged/modified Standard, with nylon standard flysheet (almost certainly shot?) just sold on ebay for an astounding £185......
