Thank you dk 168 your helpful advice is duly noted.
I would agree, it is exciting kitting out again after so many years, weight is a concern for me not just because of lifting but also my car which doesn’t have the greatest payload capacity, but I will be weighing kit to make sure we are safe.
It amazes me that so many adverts for kit don’t make weight and packed down size it more obvious,

This thread is screaming "Used Karsten" for some reason.
... which is quite the coincidence, seeing as I have one advertised in the tents for sale section!
I note the OP is also on the lookout for a camping fridge. Hmmm... that could also be arranged!
Mucker, hold on to your camping fridge as you might need it one day!
I take a coolbox with me in my van even though I have 80L+ fridge to keep the drinks cool and the delicate salad leaves and mint (for Pimms) from being frozen in the fridge!

My advice would be to get a small leisure trailer as I believe you will struggle with packing everything into your estate car.
Fitting a tow bar and getting a good second-hand trailer is still a lot less than a MH IMHO.
Also, once you have the trailer, majority of your kit can stay in there ready to be hooked up to your car.
