Big Bunny ...thanks for your input , much appreciated.

We've decided we want one that has a SIG and you put up in 'one'...like the Outwell Montana 4/6 ( good video on yeomans site )

Any you can suggest like this but perhaps a bit cheaper than the Montana ??

cheers

From a previous SIG list, the tents that can go up flysheet first or as one were listed as:

Sunncamp:

  • Vario (#)
  • Haven (#)
  • Evolution (#)
  • Ventura (#)

Aspen

  • Aurora (#)

Outwell

  • Nebraska (#)
  • SunValley (#)
  • Montana (#)
  • Lakes (#)

Coleman

  • Magellan (#)
  • Weathermaster (05)

Outdoor Revolution

  • VRX Scenic 5.0i (#)

From this list the "cheaper than a Montana" ones would be the Auora, VRX Scenic 5i, Magellan, Evolution & Ventura.

I personally can vouch for the Auora as a darn good tent (but it needs two people to put it up, it is not a single handed tent - not hard, just needs two). A few on here have now got Scenic 5s and Evolutions, so they could give you input. the Magellan and Ventura I know very little about, other than standing in them at the Wokingham show a few weeks ago.

With a preference for seporated bedrooms, for a bit of privacy with the boys, I would start with the Vango Aurora 600/800 or Coleman Magellan as tents to go and see.

Yes, but it had braking pole problems, so you would be advised to find one that had replacement poles. Do a search in the archives and you should get all the details.
