I emailed Outwell and have had a reply. They say that the Minnesota doesn't have 3 doors and that they change the guys from production to producation. Therefore some older and newer models may have them I'm guessing,
I got the same response from Oase but they did ask which site shows the specifications as triple doors. They asked me to give them the web address showing that. I forwarded them the Outwell Megastore Outdoors web site (which is top of the list in Google) and await their reply. They asked me to take the tent back to Yeomans where we bought it, but with us in mid Wales the store in Matlock is miles away. It would cost me about forty quid in petrol to go there and back. I asked if I could take it back somewhere closer .... awaiting their reply at the moment.
It might well be that the Megastore site has got it wrong and seeing the position of the guys can vary we won't be able to tell when ours was made. It doesn't change the fact that there are serious problems with the one we've got though. If and when they exchange it I will want to pitch the replacement before taking it away. I would be quite happy if the ring pins can be moved further down the three unadjustable straps and two straps provided to attach the bendy porch pole ends to the side poles. Would be an ideal tent then, even though we have to run the gauntlet of the waterfall down our necks every time we go in and out of the porch door when it's raining.
Just another example of the problems when buying off the net. Unfortunately in mid Wales there is no other way ... one has to go over 60-70 miles to an exhibition.
Looking for an Outwell supplier in Wales I put the following in Google. OUTWELL TENT SUPPLIERS IN WALES
Second on the page was ..... To anyone who had a faulty Outwell 2006 - UK Campsite messages.
Clicking on this took me straight to the right point on the message board.
I was amazed to find 8 pages of complaints against Outwell tents .... many of them having the same problems as we have. One of them passed on the letter they received from the supplier re not being able to centralise the tent due to it being held down too tightly on the unadjustable ring pin straps ..... Cut about 20mm off the end of the poles was suggested !!!!!!! There are numerous complaints about porch poles being too tight as well.
Quite a lot of the complainants reported taking their tents back for a refund. There were also a report of a camp shop expecting faults in up to 50% of tents sold ... even taking into account that this might be exagerated a bit, it doesn't bode well does it.
Have a read.

Had a quick read through. There are similar complaints to our problem. When using the tent it began leaking at the back, over the sleeping area. It had been raining for 24 hours non-stop, but there are a few comments on that thread about it.
I am fairly new to camping- so where do I stand with this? Can someone advise me on how I could waterproof the fabric? If I do waterproof it does it stop me from returning it?
With regards to the porch problem/leaking would the camping shop take it in and test it?
Yeomans got in touch and we dropped the tent off to their Chester shop on Friday the 31st July. Am still waiting for a response .... it went back to their warehouse for them to inspect and report to Oase. Will keep you posted.
