That's what they are, they fit inside the poles so just the pin part sticks out, the rest of it is the spring that allows the button to press in and out.
I'm wondering if we got the front and back corners mixed up, might be worth trying them that way just to check.

Yeah and Hallelujah! The tent is finally up! A friend came round to help and she has owned several frame tents. Now that I see it, it actually looks easy. Using the instructions from Bertie and Ric and the lovely drawing from mkn9139, everything went well. My youngest son helped me the previous evening and thought that the back wall poles might be in the wrong place, as they were sticking out at a weird angle. He was right, they go in the middle. We took some photographs, but we had problems uploading to my gallery as the old photo's just keep coming back, very annoying! We will take more photo's whilst we are away, with the canvas on (not tried that bit yet). A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE.
I'm not sure why it does that, but I always get a delay on the new pics showing. I can see one of a frame with red tape on it though. You can add your photos to photobucket and then link to that.
ps well done.

The old pics will appear that thye are just coming back to you. Just press F5 once you have changed them and they will change - honest.
If not then you are welcome to email them to me and I'll get themon here for you OR upload them to photobucket and then use the direct links to post them straight onto the thread. Kparsons1966 at aol.com
Well done on mnaging to figure it out. It's really easy once you've done it once
You need to have a couple more practices - just because you can
You are right mkn9139 and Keely, one photo has appeared and I have just uploaded another one. The tent is quite big and the kitchen still needs fitting, the legs attaching and also there is a prong and 2 poles for the front porch, which I had thought was just a lip, but in fact it is more than that and will provide shade. Our home education festival is not starting until tomorrow - www.hesfes.co.uk - but we are going today as am helping a bit. I have asked my 16 year old to gather some friends and ask them to help. Also perhaps one of the crew might assist - not the frame of course, cos I can do that now just with hoisting up the canvas. Maybe the guy I bought the tent from made a mistake and it is bigger than a bungalow 4. We shall see what it looks like when it is all up. Hopefully photo of the inside and outside of the tent, one up. bye for now and happy camping if you are going
Well done Chelostar! I knew you'd get there in the end. Hope your inaugural camping trip goes well. The weather forecast is extremely good. You'll really appreciate the coolness of the canvas in the high tempedratures. Polyester tents can get very hot inside. The Relum is a great choice I am sure you'll agree.
Bert.

Fantastic outcome and I hope you have a great time away in your new tent. I can indeed see the new pics in your gallery, with the fresh colour coding on the poles!
This thread pretty much epitomises why this forum is so good.
