Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

Billy, I would love to see it. Is it possible to upload it and post a link to it?

Thanks again,

Mark

Thanks to Billy, I managed to erect the Aspen for the 1st time yesterday (with the very able help of my OH).

We got it up up (ooh err) in just about 1 hour and it took about 40 mins to pack away.

We were very pleased with ourselves, but as stated by others... I would not have like to have tried it without seeing the video 1st!

Generally we are pleased with the tent, the only issue is that there is mildew patches in and around the inner tent.

Any advice on how to remove it without damaging the fabric would be appreciated.

I found the below on the net, any comments?

To remove mould or mildew, make a 5% solution of hydrogen peroxide. (125ml in 5 litres of water.) Sponge the solution on and, when the mould is gone, rinse off and wash the tent

Thanks

Hi Mark,

I am really sorry about the mildew patches. The tent was packed away dry last year and has been kept dry since so I presumed that it would be fine - it always has been in the past.

If there is anything I can do then please give me a call - I feel bad about this now. I hope it can be sorted and you enjoy the tent as much as we did.

Hi Andy,

I think I said in an earlier post that the bottom of the SIG was a bit wet, so it has probably come from that.

If you can offer any advice as what to do that would help.

Thanks,

Mark

never heard of this before, so i cant say if it will work or not.

but 5% would be 250ml in 5 litres of water

Hi Mark,

TO be honest I've never had that problem. I have just googled it and have found the same answer with the Hydrogen Peroxide.

I also read you can use Milton Fluid dilute 1:10 with water or the following:-

First, kill the mold.
Brush the mold and mildew from the material.
Wash the affected area with a solution made up of 1/2 cup Lysol to a gallon of hot water.
And/or rinse with a solution of 1 cup of lemon juice and 1 cup of salt to a gallon of hot water.
Allow the material to dry in the sun.
Next, bleach the mildew stain.
Wash or soak the affected area with one of the following, depending on the material.
For most fabrics, you can use a non-chlorine bleach.
For colored fabrics, use a solution of 1 cup of lemon juice and 1 cup of salt to a gallon of hot water.
For color safe fabrics, use a solution of 2 tablespoons of bleach to a quart of water.
