Hello. New Eldorado owner here, inspired by this site.

We had a trial pitch in the back garden last weekend, and it went up pretty easily.

A few wonky guys perhaps, but no major issues. It was nice feeling being inside a canvas tent again on a sunny day. It's been about 30 years since we last went camping.

Now we're getting organised for a trip to Trwyn yr Wylfa!

Went very well, so well that we were actually hoping to go back out again this week (Storm Ali makes that unlikely)

Eldorado stood up to heavy rain and wind on a couple of days and was fine though. We love that tent already ...

Photos imminent

Jumping in, as Druidical's other half, to say this really is a great little tent, and I am delighted with it. I certainly didn't regret pounding in all those pegs when the rain was lashing and the wind was howling, and we were snug and dry inside.

You'll soon get good and quick with the pegging out.
Takes me about 20 minutes on the Palamos, while Monster fits the inner tent, carpet, kitchen etc.

Great tent and ours still looks great 5 years down the line. Although the eyelets where the pins go through for the front frame have given up the ghost... Still doesn't leak and we've ridden out some stormy nights with little more than a wuffly ground sheet.

OK, Eldorado owners - how do you fold your tent to get it back in the bag?

Last time but one I did it perfectly, but I cannot remember how I did it, and after several goes last time I have an unruly mess that will not fit in the bag. I need to sort this out before I set off camping again.

I seem to remember being very strict about having the mud flap up against mud flap and not canvas, and folding in three....

Do you fold back edge to front?

Or sides to sides?

Can anyone remember?

I base my Eldorado-packing on the illustration I posted back near the top of page 34 of this thread:
https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=32&TopicID=........

After collapsing the tent, pulling the top left, then right, forward and finally back really helps to straighten out the fabric and make it less bulky to fold/roll up.

Thank Spooley - I'll go back to the diagram and see if it works for the Eldorado!
