I just emailed them again this morning asking about exchanging our Leben for a Rage Alto DX. Maybe its better if they say no. I am pleased with their customer service and as I've said before, they are the suppliers not the manufacturers. I wouldn't want to work there, they must take a fair amount of aggro from customers if the posts on here are anything to go on. I try to keep it civil and polite in my emails as they also continue to do, I have found them very helpful so far : )
Call me a cynic but i'm not to sure about that, i went on the Leben website, chose a tent and clicked on "buy now", it immediately linked me to tentastic, similarly, when you click on the find supplier, again it only links to Tentastic, the same thing happens on the Rage website, who's pulling the wool over whose eyes?

Hiya Annie, really hope you do manage to get away soon.
The kiddies loved it whilst weather held out, even while in a muddy field in their welly boots! My 3yr old now say she doesn't like camping but she was distraught when we were packing her 'bed' up the other day when we were coming home. We only went down to teh edge of The New Forest but it was a lovely site and I'd go back if I knew it'd be dry or that we'd be closer to the loo!
Which site was it that you stayed on in The Forest?
Hiya Beccy, many apologies for teh delay in replying. The site was Green Pastures, Ower. Only a smal site, which is what we prefer, look it up on here, it has many positive reviews. It would have been much better if teh weather had not been quite so wet!
As for ongoing Leben Aachen tent, I posted this on the Rage tent debate earlier but relevant here too..
"Without wanting to add fuel to the fire as it were, I would just like to say that even though we've had a very bad expereience with a Leben tent, we have actually asked for it to be replaced with a Rage Alta dx. I am prepared to give it a go and from the pictures, it definitely looks a lot better made than the Leben.
So, yes, we've had a bad experience and I acknowledge that it may not our only one with Tentastic, but I am prepared to give it another go. Their customer service is very good, no argument and everything done via email so I have copies of everything.
At least next time we go camping, we'll take both tents (Rage and Lichfield), just in case it all goes wrong"
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

Blimey! If you have to take two tents 'just in case', you might as well just take a frame tent and be done with it!

Tentastic are the only UK importers of these brands.
I would imagine they get (extremely) good terms from the manufacturers because of this. It's a whole new potential market to them, and production will have been massively increased, and they will probably be struggling to meet demand. Hence the quality issues.
Time will tell if the manufacturers are out to make a quick buck, or open up profitable new markets for a sustainable future. I know which business model I would choose, and Tentastics no quible responses to ALL problems with these two brands so far, convinces me of THEIR businnes plan at least.
Sorry to hear that ppl have had problems with Tentastic Leben/Rage tents, I bought a Leben Lingen 8 berth about 6 weeks ago, 1st use was last weekend and it absoultly bucketed it down and the tent held up nicley, fair enough abit of condensation only due to the fact that they were 6ppl in the tent over the weekend, but other than that was fine. To be honest it held up better than the Black's 2 man tent I bought about 2yrs ago, Im no expert like but it seems all dandy to me, the people who go camping where I work (Craghoppers) have various tents some have good feedback and some not but you cant have everything in life I guess.
But on the bright side booked a 4 night stay at Newhaven in Derbyshire for 12-16 September, so if anyone else going see you there..
Well, as originator of this post and what has been said here, and on other threads, a healthy (and a sometimes not so friendly) debate has ensued.
I think that we have established that Leben/Rage tents are not the devils backrubber that some wish they were for the price that they sell for. Several people have had bad expereinces, including myself but on the other hand, several people have had good expereinces with their tents from these makers. Long may they continue to do so and if they don't, Tentastic customer service has been superb in dealing with the issues raised with our faulty Leben. I wish them all the best but also that they pass on the quality issues to the tent manufacturers so that they improve : )
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
