We are a family of 4 adults and 4 kids, aged 1, 4, 5 and 6 years looking to buy a tent. We have been to a few showrooms and have decided on the Vango Diablo 900. It is exactly what we have been lookingfor, the head room being so high, the sewn in groundshhet ( a must), the living space being huge and the 3 bedrooms, I was just wondering if people who own this tent already, would reccommend it.
Any info on this tent would be great.
Thanks, Jacquie.

We had a 600 before I can only say good things. If you do a search on here they will tell you about saggy bedrooms on previous models, but this is not a problem for us as we just stick the kids in the saggy area, and anyway how much time do you spend in a bedroom? Ours is 2006 model. If you're buying one this year I believe that has been solved by Vango.
The living area is just huge and lots of room to sit if it's raining etc., the utility area now has that side door which makes soooooooo useful, I can't wait to get out again in it.
The size can be a problem for some campsites but we don't like regimented lines and tiddly pitch sizes anyway so we would just avoid them. (I would let campsite owners of the size just incase)
Takes me Hubby and 2 kids about 45mins to get it up. (Actually it takes us longer to get all the cr*p inside it that we bring!) Some people think inner pitching first not good but again it doesn't bother us (if it's blowing a force 9 gale we won't have gone camping in the first place)
So for us its FAB.

]I think out of all the tents it is one of the easiest to put up, its very straight forward.
Having had a Sunncamp Magnum which is the same design as the Diablo (although smaller) I'm not sure I'd agree with that.
In my experience geodesic domes are pigs to pitch. Tunnels, hybrid tunnels and frames are considerably easier.
It might be worth the OP reading the thread about "large tents" in the UK Campsite section, I'd also search "Diablo" on the tenting sections and look at some of the recent posts about peoples experience with pitching and getting pitches.
I can see why the Diablo is attractive to a new camper but personally I'd suggest you look at tunnels and perhaps consider adding a dayroom or kitchen tent to it so you have a decent sized tent for weekends and then add extra space for longer trips.
I have edited my original post, I ment out of all the tents that we have had.
We also have a Aztec Palacio that we love too, and that can be a real pig to put up. The first time it took us 4 hours, and then we hadn't put it up correctly.
We got the 600 and it is excellent, highly recommend it, really wish now though that we had gone for the 900 and had the extra bedroom as space, ah well never mind.
Used our Diablo 900 for the first time last weekend and had no problems at all. Take your time when erecting it and all should be well. Loads of space and very stable.
Enjoy.
