hi,we bought one of these last year after seeing one up on a site, only put it up to make sure it was all there last week,we love the space having 3 kids, but i seem to be having problems with the size,we would like to go to devon or cornwall this year, but it must be a fairly active park for the kids, and the wife wants showers,a pool electric etc etc,i am finding most sites will not take it because of its size, really annoying, has anyone any recomendations of any sites that could take our size tent, and still keep the kids busy, bored kids means fighting= fed up parents, any help would be great thanks ,steve

There is a thread stickied at the top of the UK Campsite section of this site that lists sites that will take large tents. It's quite long, I'd start from the end and work backwards!
Try River Dart country park /River Dart Adventures Holne near Ashburton devon the kids WILL love it but the wife wont like the small pool.....ok take a vote kids 3 wife 1 motion carried!

We've also got a big outwell like you. We found a brilliant campsite in St Ives (St Ives Bay) which is right down the bottom of cornwall (check the reviews on this site). Its right on the beach and the views from the tent are amazing - across the sand dunes and out to sea. There is a swimming pool, club house, shop, playground etc etc and we found it to be excellent. Much better than Haven and much cheaper! Definately worth a look - and plenty of room on the pitch for a big tent.
We've booked on Pentewan Sands with ours no problem. We told them the size of the tent & they just took the booking.
We've not used our 2008 xxl yet, can anyone tell me how these tents behave in the windy weather? This'll be our first year with a tent after 14 seasons in a caravan & I'm getting cold feet the closer the season gets. Any advice & tips would be appreciated. We've got the footprint & Outwell carpet.
we got on great, the tent was very stable,no problems at all,we had the outwell windbreaks on 3 sides and i think that helped,we ended up at perrin sands,(haven),good holiday spoilt by a family with 4 tents, the second they got there they rigged fairy lights around all their tents, then set up a kareoke speaker, had the radio blaring out from midday to at least 2 in the morning, talked all night,a real nightmare, but the haven staff did let us move next day,but a lot of hastle just because some idiots were selfish,to be honest its put us off camping at big sites now
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
