We have bought an Outwell Nebraska XXL. I wish I'd read all the threads on here first. Just wondering (and not wishing to be stupid), the seam sealant you can buy do you put that on the inside or outside of the tent. I'm in a panic that this tent is going to leak in the middle of the night with three children moaning their getting soaked. We can't test it really, our gardens too small, before our first outing (with this tent) at the end of May. The thought of staying in a sieve for a week is really starting to concern me.
Thanks for any advice you can give me

Hi, the sealent is applied to the stiching on the inside of the tent if there are no taped seams.------------- Work just gets in the way.

I must be the only one not to have a leaky Nebraska!!! When we got ours in March we pitched it in the garden for nearly 2 weeks and it withstood all weathers rain, sleet, snow, gale force winds etc and it did not leak once.
We've been away a few times since and had the rain at the last BH in the Lakes and again it didn't leak........................ come on surely i'm not the only one, there must be more of us out there who have Nebraskas that DON'T leak!!!

You shouldn't have to apply sealent to a new tent.
I would pitch it, hose it with a spray nozzel..... if it's gonna leak, it should show itself.
We had a Nebraska Xl that leaked on every seem.....got shot of it.
Expensive for a leaking tent.
Sorry!

Ours leaks too; from about 10 seams. It's going back for replacement. I'll try one more time! The one I saw at a local show was leaking too.
In my case there was no sign of missing tape.
