Does anybody else have this tent or were we the only ones that bought it last year, its very similar to the Hartford XXl.
It concerns me that i never hear of anyone else that has bought it, the only down side of this tent we have found is the gasp of campsite owners when you tell them the size!

sorry had to get rid of the blue face . i had a royal tent and yes some of them are HUGE.thing is with royal they seem to change the last name if the tent. a chap on here was asking about a biaritz and another lad answer he had a ??? same tent just a name change
Hi I'm new here and was looking for advice on this tent as I'm thinking of buying one too, would you recommend it as I haven't seen it erected just non the internet.
And how easy is it to put up? and yes I realise it is huge but there are many of us camping so the size is great already come across one camp site that can't locate it without us paying ofr a second pitch....

Hi Tigger, I would go for the hartford XXL (we have got one) and the are almost identical to the montpellier. You can get the porch extension for the hartford which is a great addition. I know that the the original poster purchased the hartford porch extension for the montpellier but I am sure form mempory it did not fit quite as well (we were both on the same campsite in France last year)

Royal do now make a canopy for the Montpellier, the Hartford XXl was almost Identical, the Montpellier is really quite easy to erect, if there are two of you takes about 1 hour 20 minutes to get up and pegged out, well it did us with 4 kids running about! It may well be able to get up quicker.!! We looked at both tents last year and I can't really remember why we chose the montpellier 12, it may have been the price.
Thanks Tony and sjriley for your advice, I have looked at the hartford xxl and thought it very bright and claring is the montpellier as bright?
I have seen the canopy for the montpellier and it does look like a good addition but it have seen makes it £80 more expensive with the canopy. ho hum decisions to make.....
There will be 4 kids running about when myself and a mate put this up too so it bodes well....
I have seen the montpellier 12 for sale on wildday.co.uk for £199 and I ave seen the canopy for £49 but I can't remember where. Ours is just green, nothing really bright about it.

I would say that both tents are as bright as each other and to the untrained eye look identical.

I can beat that.. £172 (strange but discountedheating) but not seen the canopy seperately anywhere. combined package cheapest is £250.
Am i right in thinking that the bedroom pods on this one are all attached seperately or are they all sown in like with the hertford?
