We've just bought a cabanon 2/3 berth frame tent from ebay which will come in two bags - one 10kg and the other 15kg. Are we mad to consider this tent without a car? I thought we would be able to manage as it's in two bags and there's two of us but reading a few of the posts on here the discussion seems to be 'will my frame tent fit in the boot of my car?'!
Also the listing says it is a Cabanon 'Lea' but I can't find any reference to this model on the web or on here at all........does anyone have one? I want to know roughly how long it should take to put up.

we don't take cooking stuff as we are usually camping at festivals......just mattress, sleeping bags etc. Even so I think we will be very weighed down. Will have to start training with rucksacks full of rocks!

If you're being dropped off and only have to cross a festival site I'd go for 2 decent fishing trolleys with off road wheels for the heavy stuff and then rucksacks for the lighter stuff.
Ah. I see. I thought you would be relying on public transport. If you are being dropped off by car then I agree that fishing trolleys are probably the best idea. Get a trolley with big wheels. They are much easier to manoevre. (The voice of experience speaking).

As to your query about time to erect a 2/3 man frame tent - probably about 20-30 minutes maximum, including pegging it all out & fitting the inner bedroom. Hehe, if you have any high winds at a festival, yours will probably be one of the few tents left standing when all the little dome tents have collapsed
