Now we have our shiny new tent (Gelert Lokon Vario 6).  I am looking at taking it for a shakedown at a local campsite,  the trouble is the weather is looking a bit cold.  So I was looking through the 'laminated book of dreams' (or argos catalogue) and came across a portable gas heater!

My question is this - is it a good idea?  You know, a gas appliance in a confined area.  Does anyone have any experience of these, have they melted great holes in the tent etc. I should imagine condensation would be a problem.

Just returned from an camping trip to Scotland where we had an unexpected hail storm! Some friends of ours took the same heater with them. We used it late evening and it worked very well. There was one minor mishap when a cuddly toy became slightly singed when our friends' daughter tried to heat it up. Apart from that it seemed pretty safe. We didn't use it for any length of time so condensation wasn't a problem.
