Its time for a new tent and was thinking of buying a a Nevada XL.I like the idea that it goes up all at once and with only 5 poles looks easy to pitch. My only concern is the length of the tent for pitch size and the bad feedback that Outwell is getting .Can any owners please share thier views or if anyone knows of similar tents that pitch this way please post.

Thanks

I bought a Nebraska XL last month and tried it out the last weekend in May.  I was dubious about the quality (see other threads) but a couple of retailers assured me that quality problems had been sorted out in the 2007 model.   Tent leaked in several places but my 13month old twins enjoyed the indoor swimming pool.  Took the tent back to ABC camping who refused to exchange it.  They said they could send it back to Denmark to be checked which could take up to 6 weeks!!!   If you buy an Outwell, be afraid, be very afraid!!!!!

Crikey mart14 .. sorry to hear bout your troubles.  That is not what a good retailer would do.  I am  afraid ABC don't have the best reputation on here. Can you  offer to let them erect the tent and test it with you there.. we have hoses in the UK too.  Tell them you will complain to Outwell about your treatment by ABC.

Hopefully others will be along with some insight to their own dealings with this company.

best of luck getting it sorted.

not sure if this will help in anyway

Mart14,

You are fully entitled to a refund or replacement under the sale of goods act as the tent is not fit for purpose.

We have just taken our second Nebraska xl back to Go Outdoors in Coventry and they have agreed to replace it with a 2007 model. I took pictures of the leak points and one clearly showed a fold in the fabric under one of the seams. As soon as this was seen by the tent specialist, they said that it could be classed as faulty on this alone. Hopefully that should be the end of our wet camping experience.

If you don't get any luck with your supplier, i suggest you talk to trading standards as you are within your right to request a full refund/replacement.

No longer an Outwell Nebraska owner.
