Hiya,

Lots of people have suggested waterproofing the seams of the tent. Our newly purchased and only put up in the garden tent has 3000mm but I think we should still waterproof the seams.

Any tips, suggestions on how, when and what make to do this with?

Thanks from the newbies.

It depends if your tent has taped seams, if it does you should not need to seam seal. If it doesn't you can get seam sealer from a camping shop ( in a bottle with a little spongy end) and you put it on the seams of the tent and leave to dry (you put it on the inside of the seams)

Hiya Steve & Cheryl,

You don't say what make your tent is, but with 3000mm HH it shouldn't be too bad unless there's a monsoon. If your tent is of a reputable make you shouldn't need to seal the seams before you use it, they should have been taped during manufacture. Though no tent is perfect and you might find places where sealing is required, I would wait until your tent has had a good try-out first.

Enjoy!

Our tent is a recently bought bargain from Aldi - Adventuridge 6. Not necessarily a reputable make. Maybe in the future a Vango, or Khyam.

Hoping to go away somewhere local next weekend to try it out! Yay
