We've just bought a Coleman Galileo XL and are planning our first trip in it in a few days.

We've done a test pitch in the garden already which went OK, but i'm sure we could have done a better job of it. Have had dome tents in the past but have never pitched a tunnel tent before.

Pitching it consists of putting the four poles through and then lifting the whole thing upright. Because it is so long  you cannot get to all of the legs to hold it steady on each side as you pull it upright (IYSWIM). So is it best to get the middle sections fully upright then do the end poles, or start at one end and work along to the other?

Does any of this make sense Hope you can help.

Caveat - I'm no expert.

I've got one of these, I put up the legs at the end up first (furthest from the bedrooms), and peg out the guys nearest these to hold it up. I then put up the others from these ones back. This seems to be the easiest way, but I'm also open to offers of advise from anyone with experience

When you find the best way I'd also be keen to know.

I have the Galileo L (not quite such a beast!), the easiest way we have found to pitch it so far is, is to put all the top poles through, then peg out the back and work along fitting all the legs as you work forward.  This way you don't have the pull the whole thing upright, but lift it bit by bit.  Not sure this would definately work on the XL as its a fair bit wider than the L.
