Q for Sonjap
Very interested in the Khyam XL classic TC. I've never noticed it before. I'm going to have a hunt for any reviews on here. BTW is the annexe in the same material or is there one annexe suitable for both the polycotton and the normal tents. Thanks.

We have a coleman and find it brill!!
We started with a crappy millets starter 4 pigmy berth and moved onto the Coleman. It is well designed, stands up to the rain/sun and is great quality.

As has already been said, Cabanon are the Rolls of the tent world.
I am biased, as I have one.
Their canvas has always been considered the best there is, and personally I would not have a nylon/poly tent.
OK if you only want to try camping but you will want to upgrade if you get bitten by the bug.

Very interested in the Khyam XL classic TC.
It is new this year and so far it seems there is no annexe available. or a screen canopy.
andy pandy 666 is my fount of knowledge for all things khyam and he went to see one earlier this year i believe. He is on his hols at the moment but when he gets back you should ask him about it.
if the poly cotton version had been available when i bought mine i imagine i would have chosen it (taking all other factors into account).
If you are not worried about matching colours a polyester annexe would still be useful for 'stuff' and extra shelter.

Thanks
I am now deciding between a Cabanon cotton and the Khyam XL TC. I'll hold of buying a little bit longer and consult andypandy.

You'll have the De Waard ("those Dutch tent") Posse on you if you go around saying things like that! (I don't have one, I just want one.) On price, at least, the De Waards make Cabanon look like Lidl cheapies.
Of course, with our current tent being a random second-hand plastic dome which has slight leakage in bad weather, my mission is to persuade the OH to upgrade to canvas next time. I doubt I'll convince her that 2000 euros of deluxe Dutch canvas is a sensible investment, though, so it's just as well I also like chunky old frame tents (or "bungalow tents" as they're known here).
