Is the difference between the Ease and the Lite is the groundsheet? That's a really good price for a tent like that, when compared to around £350 for a Cabanon Guadaloupe is pretty good.
I can't remember what I saw previously, it was from a post of here and it was the company that sell a woodburning stove to go inside their tents as well! I think they were about the same price. It's an interesting point about the A frame entrance, the Guadaloupe has this but from memory the ones I looked at before didn't (might be wrong though!)
I'd probably want to try and see one to get a feel for the quality of the canvas, seams etc. but I love the look of them and imagine they must be lovely to camp in.

I used to sleep in a bell tent when I was in the girl guides.
Will you be making wellie stands and a bedding rack out of sticks and string (hope you know your knots) when you get yours? LOL
I love canvas. Have had canva tents for years. Last summer I took our Khyam (nylon)away in some rather warm weather as I thought it would be easier to erect on my own as hubby was going away. I spent mosty of the week avoidin goin into my tent. It was unbearable inside. It felt like a sauna. I had to be up and out of my bed so early every morning as the tent just did not seem to breathe in the same way a canvas tent does. I am now getting rid of my Khyam - also seems a bit past it now.
Canvas is heavier than nylon but will last years longer. Also, if it is taking an age to dry out it must need reproofing. We have packed up our canvbas tent in torrential rain many times got home and put the tent staight back up to dry off and before we have the pegs in it is dry. Water should just run off looking like liquid silver on a canvas tent, if it is soaking in, its time to reproof.
Agreed - the walls do make a great feature. The SoulPad I'm looking at is 4metres in diameter at £220 - quite cheap I thought. What price were the ones you looked at, roughly?
That's strange Squeek, at 2.19 yesterday, you posted here that you have one of these tents. At 2.22 yesterday are asking for the main advantages of camping under canvas. At 2.23 yesterday you are thinking of getting one here . At 2.24 yesterday you are wondering what they are like here . Rather confusing!
Aaaagh! I'm confused too! Just trying to get a feel for my purchase is all. Sorry if I seemed disjointed. Thanks to everyone for all the tips. Just waiting for the thing to arrive now and then I'm off!! woo-hoo!!!

From time to time, retailers have been known to post on these boards in order to get some free advertising, by masquerading as a camper who recommends a certain tent, or retailer.
I have to agree, it does sound iffy when someone joins, states things like:
'I have one of these and its dead easy to put on on your own! great family tent. 10000% recommend.'
then later posts:
'just wondering what they are like...'
then again:
'Agreed - the walls do make a great feature. The SoulPad I'm looking at is 4metres in diameter at £220 - quite cheap I thought'
Just call me an old cynic, but doesn't that posting history sound a bit dodgy? How can you recommend something '10000%' and claim it is easy to pitch alone when you haven't even bought it yet?
Lets even it up then Cabanon are by far and away best canvas tent makers closely followed by Marechall and the Deward (wrong spelling) who both use the next best canvas Tencate, Relum were also up there when made in East Germany but not as good when bought out and manufactured over here but still not bad tents all the same So iI suppose the rule for canvas buyers is to look for either a tent made with Cabanon (CGI) or Tencate. There are plenty out there without buying from a internet company with no history and actually is'nt that cheap
PS Unforgiveable great british company at least it used to be all british is Lichfields
