I know you lot are very knowledgable in this area so I thought I would ask you what I could get for my money, I already have my beloved Quechua T4.2 tent which I adore but now the kids are getting a bit bigger we need to expand .
I have around £300 for a tent and it needs to be:
5/6 berth with 3 bedrooms/pods or at least 2 bedroom pods but with an extra room/cubby hole we can turn into a washroom and loo!
sewn in groundsheet (no buts - has to be sewn in! lol)
nice living area space
holds up to very bad weather
and tall enough for me (6ft 1") to stand in
is this possible with £300?
What would you recommend? Thanks folks!

being a bit biased but would thoroughly recommend the 2006 vango aspen 700dlx, a bit over your budget but an excellent tent - very stable due steel frame, huge headroom throughout, SIG - ticks all your boxes, a great tent currently at a great price (rrp £500!), alternatively you could just consider the 2006 aspen 700 (not deluxe model - ie. no extended porch) and this you can get around £340.
I'm afraid Im not actually very knowledgable about these things. Im also looking for the perfect family tent at the mo but slightly different requirements from you. I cant recommend this one as I dont own it but did see up in the shop. Im thinking of www.attwools.co.uk own brand Berkeley Deluxe. Its an 8 bth tunnel one 4bth and 2x2 bth at opposite end. Height 225cm. 25 mins to go up and SIG. It was £249 when I looked and I think its good value. It was an indoor display though so can't comment on its weatherproofing. Good luck.
Check out the Wild Country Halo 73 - great company (they make the best backpacking/mountain tents on the market), great tent - sturdy, well designed and made, guarranteed waterproof, and just the right size for your needs.

thanks folks, a lot are over my price range though, £300 is my max so will have to see what I can find, thanks again :)
Forgot to say - Wild Country Halo 73 - last year's model may still be available from WorldofCamping for not much more than £200
hello weve just purchased a Royal Bordeaux 6 berth tent. Its everything youre looking for. 3 bedrooms and an extra storage bit on the side. It cost us £325 from Tamworth camping. Loads of living space and a nice canopy on the front.

The Sunncamp Oasis (last year's model, now discontinued) is very similar in design to the Aspen.
We were pitched near one in the recent storms, and it stood up very well indeed; owners told us they were dry and comfortable.
A nice looking tent but pitches inner-first, is that a problem?
At £255, this is an excellent price for the 700, methinks.
Those quenchua tents look rather tasty! I heard on the radio that decathlon have a sale on at the moment. If you are happy with your quencha you might get a bigger one in the sale.
