We are looking for a second hand Khyam tent and have narrowed it down to a Rigipod Excelsior or an Espace as I understand these 2 have the highest headroom (please correct me if I'm wrong).  We need it really high as there is a 6'5"er amongst us!

I have 2 questions, firstly which of these has the most windows as I don't want a tent which is dark and gloomy.  I'd like to be able to sit inside having my dinner watching the rain teaming down through a full length window.

Secondly what is the overall difference in size?  We need a big tent with 2 or 3 sleeping pods and lots of room in the centre but I do not want a 'Blimey What The Hell Do They Need A Great Big Montrosity Of A Tent Like That' kind of tent which gets on all the others campers nerves

The Rigipod seems to be more expensive that the Espace - is it worth the extra price?

Thanks y'all

We prefer the Rigipod for exactly the reasons you state here - the amazing lightness inside the tent. There are two roof lights and one of the  window panels has a huge picture window which you can sit behind to watch the storm coming in!!

Worth getting the porch inner too if you can as they are becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of. This gives you the extra space by using the porch and just one pod, and you can use the window and window/door panel on the other sides. Each pod can be sub-divided into two separate bedrooms.

We bought all three pods, but tend only to us the porch and one pod, and to be honest, with the huge size of many other tents these days it certainly doesn't look out place.

Hi

we have the espace deluxe, have no idea what the difference between espace/deluxe is.  Sounds pretty much the same as above except for differing sleep arrangements which you can do with all khyams I think.

I do not think ours is a light as b chrysties, although it does have big windows, but only one rooflight in the porch area.  Or it could be that it always rains when we go away!

As for size, ours sleeps 12, and we have never over hung our pitches.  We can still fit the car, trailer & table/chairs on.  Even with hedged pitches.  Our blurb states you can drive a landrover through it - so its as high as one of those.  I have never felt like we have too big a tent, there are 6 of us.

Hope this helps
