I've only had cheapie or old tents in the past, but having now invested in a Bear Lake 4, I was wondering about insurance. Do people insure their tents? Does this come under home insurance? Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?

We are covered for up to £2500 of camping gear on our house and contents policy anyway so don't need an extra policy!
I checked with them when renewing (switched companies) recently and I specifically asked them about adding the camping gear onto the policy, but was informed there was no need as we were covered under the standard policy, both when its stored at home or when we are on holiday.
