we've just bought a new khyam yale tent for 2 adults and 2 kids and it seems big enough for the 4 of us
after trying to put it up in the garden during pretty bad wind,we got the inner up in five minutes, piece of cake,,but due to good winds and floating around like mary poppins around the lawn we decided to give it up and wait until gentler weather,
The only question ive got is that on set up video it shows them tying the outer to the inner although not very clearly at all,do you tie the strings to the four D sections on the inner poles or do they tie elsewhere.
those of you with this tent hopefully will know what im on about but if not reply and ill try to provide as much info as possible,as we are due away for a week in this tent end of july for a week
cheers the Soulsby's

We put inner up, then throw fly over top, then one of us holds up a corner while the other ties it. Though ours is different to yours in the fact we also have a hanging pod . and poles in the fly. Ours pitches inner first at one end and outter first at the other. So if we don't tie ours, when we do, then it doens't line up properly.

Campers do it in the mud!
Hubby says we can
We had the Yale for 18 months before selling it last month to buy a Cabanon. If you look at the sleeves that the poles thread through you will see gaps in the sleeve about 4 inches long and at shoulder height. These gaps line up with with the ties on the outer and you tie the outer to the bit of the pole that shows through the gap. All will become clear on a less windy day and you have the outer over the inner. We always did as it showed in the video. Just roll up the outer untill you can see the gap in the sleeve and the ties are visible, rest the outer in the crook of your arms then tie. Its a simple job for 1 person and I would do one side while OH did the other. Hope this helps.
We loved the tent and the only reason we sold it after our last trip in May is because we fell in love with the Cabanon Barbados pitched next to us. It is a canvas pyramid tent with SIG that is simple to put up and can replace both the Yale and our canvas Litchfield that we only use in France. We used the Yale as one big open plan space for 2 people and dog. Its very easy to pitch and gave us loads of living space. The porch, used with a windbreak is also good for cooking under if you have bad weather. They are very well made and we never had a seam leak or anything like that with ours. You can see lots of photos of ours in use if you go to the link in my gallery. If it wasnt for the fact that we fell in love with the Cabanon we would have replaced the Yale with a 2008 Yale next Spring.
