Hi hope you have fun at the weekend, clingons are I believe are little clips you can use say if a tiedown point on yr tent/awning tears and comes loose, was trying to find the link, but am sure someone will post it soon enough..
Hi inked and welcome to UKCS a most addictive website. Good luck with your up and coming trip in your new tent, please let us know how it went when you return. Happy camping
Tent was spot on.we used a rage tromso 10 man and it held up fine for 3 very wet days up in the lakes,no leaks no rips nothing.I was pretty worried after read some reviews and bought a few spares in case needed...never did.
First time poster - first time camper (since scouts 20 years ago anyway) Also with family - OH & 3 kids, 4-11. Fell into gullible category of buying cheap big Rage Volda family size tent. Just returned from breezy wet Anglesey (should have been weekend) one night stay. Rage tent lasted appprox 1hour 20 mins until final major failing of pole breaking - this after most pin straps tore off from flysheet v quickly.
Lucky we were with 5 other experienced camping families who tried to help with our tent until last rites were pronounced, then spent night in friends vango until returning next day!!
Sorry to hear that Humph hope your not put off by your experience and will give it another go.
------------- Yesterday is already a dream and tomorrow is only a vision, but today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
My Rage Alta 4DX continues to impress me. It was it's 4th time up this weekend and so far it has survived torrential weekend long downpours without a single leak, this weekend we were pitched in a very exposed position on a hill in the Peak District, Friday night in particular was very windy and it stood up to it all, even faring better than a friend's Gelert tunnel tent.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

Yeah, fair play indeed! We've just come back from our first camping holiday. Hubby used to play tents when he was younger, but this was my first time ever and it was great!
Used our rage vardo 8 (yep, you guessed it, bought on ebay) and I couldn't fault it. Went to Tenby (kiln park) and the heavens opened a couple of nights, but we were fine. No problem with the wind either. Only thing I didn't rate was having to take one of the sleeping compartments down every day to open up the door, but hey it was no big deal.
We considered ourselves quite fortunate, after one night of heavy rain (all night!) one guy was up the next morning digging a trench from his tent to the path, and the number of ppl bailing out awnings, well you wouldn't belive!
Weather can't be that bad next year.....................can it?
Glad to see you have had a result with your tent. Chances always were that you would!
Humph65!
So sorry to see things didn't work out with your tent. Have you gone back to the retailer for an exchange or refund? I understand they are quite fair. Having said that I think you'll find your experience was not typical. You have seen what bordercaz and loads of others say in praise of their tent. Who is to say your experience in an Outwell or other brand named tent wouldn't have been just as miserable?
Good luck whatever you decide!
