Have just returned my Vango Aurora 600 DLX due to leaky seams, so I'm on the lookout for another tent. I did like the fly pitching first, and also the SIG, but may want a tad more living space.

So, what do you Guys recommend? I like the look of the Vango Colorado 800 DLX for £239, but am willing to consider anything under about £250.

All ideas, inside or outside the box, most warmly welcome.

After the weather this year there should be some bargain nearly new or even unused tents for sale.

Given the terrible weather, have a look at a wild country halo. We've been out in ours (73 model) since February in all weather and its done a grand job. The living area is guaranteed not to leak and is steel poles so remains strong in the wind. Has a nice porch and decent living space. With the light coloured fly on top, it is bright inside and has ample windows for ventilation. We have the 2006 model, and noticed world of camping have the deal on again £199. (although when I bought mine it came with a free porch extension). Gear zone might also have them too, I know they did a couple of months ago or so. Ok, so its inner pitch first, but its so easy to put up that this is a minor inconvenience!

Hi

Another thumbs up for the Halo 73 as it withstood some horrific conditions in South West Ireland.  Although it is inner first the inner is actually waterproof.   We managed to pitch it first time in about half an hour although that was four of us.  The majority of the time was spent with guys.  We bought ours from World of Camping and whilst we didn't get the extension I don't really think we needed it.  As for the living accommodation we had 6 adults on folding camp chairs some evenings and it didn't feel cramped.

Good tent.
