Afternoon campers

Well this is our 4th year of camping and so far so good. We have a Sunncamp tent (can't remember which one but it is huge) and it normally takes us around 2 hours to put it up. So now I am thinking.....with advances in tenting are there any new style tents around that sleep at least 6 that are quicker to put up? It takes us so long that I never want to go away for less than a week so we miss out on lots of weekend trips.
Any info welcome!
Thanks!

At the risk of sounding like a cracked record... Khyam ridgi-dome, after a bit of practice, from unzipping the bag to putting your bedding in you can be opening a beer after an hour tops.. no kidding. We have a XXL and iF we have to put it up in the rain, we can be stood inside it in a little over 10 minutes ! No more messing about threading mile long poles and busting a gut trying to lock the ends into pin and ring devices. Have a look on their website, they have a video of a man putting one up. Andy Pandy will no doubt be along to advise likewise, we've had ours for 4 years now and we use it on average 12-15 times a year and, as big as it is, the longest we've used it for is 3 nights !! We keep saying we'll go away for longer but tend to prefer long weekend trips, we could easily live in it for much, much longer though.

Well that was just the kind of advice  I was looking for too!  Didn't even have to ask the question!  We are thinking of going back to tenting after a spell in a caravan.  We are looking for something a bit smaller I think and maybe get the children one of their own.

Hi liz and karl and welcome to UKCS a most addictive website. I would have tend to agree with Barry B for quickness the Kyam range are very good and quick to erect, a lot quicker than any Coleman.

Another vote for Khyam

Tried numerous tents over the years & these are the best.

Watch the video on the link & see how easy it is to erect.

i hate blinkin' camping but have been lured into sleeping in a tent with a throw in the air and it lands and it's a tent quechua

and my khyam xl for standing up in and being really comfortable within minutes.  you do have to go round and tie it down and tidy it up but if a creaky oldy like me can deal with it.. it must be less than hard work
