My husband and I are looking for a tent for the two of us to use for longer holidays, so with a bit more space than our current Vango Delta 400. We also like the idea of more than one bedroom, just in case we drag any other family members along with us.
We saw a Vango Oregon 400 at the weekend and fell in love with it, but I've just seen a 600 for sale at £139, only £10 more than the 400 and am very tempted. However, having not seen it I'm finding it difficult to picture how much bigger it is.
If there's anyone who has a 600 – is it crazy for me to consider it? Would it feel ridiculously big for 2, or would I be glad of the extra living space?
Many thanks!
Kate

I have a 600, and though I currently use it as a weekend tent for our family of four, I could see Hubby and I being totally happy in it for longer stays with just the two of us. Tons of living space and the big four man pod takes a double airbed with lots of storage room. But only one more pole than the 400, and more useable at that because you have the full head height at the extra section.
If, however, you intended to take two more adults with you in the 400, bear in mind that the four man pod will fit two double airbeds exactly, with only a divider between. How well do you know your family members? Because you`ll know them better after a night all in that pod, trust me!
Better to get the 600 IMHO, then guests can have the two man pod, which will take a double airbed comfortably with a modest amount of luggage space.....and privacy.
I have the 400, and for the extra £10 I'd get the 600. I don't feel it would be ridiculously big for 2, especially if you going to use it for longer holidays.
My 400 is just used for me and 2 little ones for 1/2 night trips.
We've had both this summer as our 400 went back after a few niggles and we got an upgrade to the 600. For 2 of us and the dog the 400 felt spot on but we're very happy with the extra living space in the 600. The 600 is not actually much bigger footprint than the 400 and with the 2nd bedroom optional it's more flexible - go for it! (Oh and the 600's got 2 windows = 2 vents so better ventilation)
Our 600 took quite a battering from strong winds and heavy rain over in NI in June and stood up superbly. The tension bands seemed to do the business or atleast provided me a technical placebo so I could sleep!
We too have the 600 for just the two of us, loads of room - especially handy when you have rubbish weather and need to spend hours in the tent rather than out of it. Plenty of room for storage and extra guests if you want. I'd say go with the 600 every time.
